Find your serial number and meter readings

We ask for the serial number whenever you place a service call or order supplies, and the meter readings for billing. Here’s where to find both.

Serial number

• Look for the label on the device. It’s usually on the front, the back, or inside the front cover. If there’s a Copyfree sticker, the serial or ID number is there too.
• On most Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices, you can also press Counter/Device Information on the control panel. The serial number appears on that screen.

Meter readings

If your devices are on Managed Print, they may report their usage automatically. We’ll let you know if we need readings from you.

1. On the control panel, press Counter/Device Information.
2. Note the totals shown for black and white and, on color devices, for color.
3. Enter them on the meter readings form, with the device’s serial number.

Button names can differ by model. If you can’t find them, call us and we’ll walk you through it.
